So I told Ben to go ahead if he really wants to make Chappati at home. Actually I was thinking, there are just so many herbs to get and the wheat flour, is a big headache because we will need to travel to Mustafa to get it. Guess what, our smart Ben got his buddy - Saurabh to get all the ingredients for him !</p><br /><p style="text-align:justify;">What can I say, he die die wanna make Chappati at home this morning ! Okay, <del>no choice la</del>, I brought out my mixing bowl, rolling pin and wash the cutting board ( yeah we didn't even buy the rolling board yet! ).</p><br /><p style="text-align:justify;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-3739" title="makan33" src="http://shelovesblogging.wordpress.com/files/2009/08/makan331.jpg?w=480" alt="makan33" width="400" height="300" /></p><br /><p style="text-align:justify;">As for the dirty job - mixing the flour with water, kneading... I'll let him do. Well, not bad I will say, as in, first time making your own chappati from the beginning to the end. Taste? Oh, I was too full to taste it myself but Ben is happy with his Chappati and he said he is going to make again in this afternoon... we'll see... :)<br /><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3728" title="Collages7" src="http://shelovesblogging.wordpress.com/files/2009/08/collages7.jpg?w=225" alt="Collages7" width="225" height="300" /><br /><p style="text-align:justify;"><img style="width:119px;float:right;height:39px;cursor:hand;margin:0 0 10px 10px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SQEQ1bjpy0I/AAAAAAAAGzs/zq1P2xvbtW0/s200/a.png" border="0" alt="" /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34141020.post-86014493075254273202009-08-25T09:55:00.001+08:002009-08-25T09:55:54.871+08:00Barley Drink for Ben<p style="text-align:justify;">Ben came home around 4pm as he was feeling unwell ( sorethroat & blocked nose )on last Tuesday. Sauté garlic and chye poh till browned. Toss with the radish cake pieces. Make a space in the middle, add the last of the oil and break eggs into the space. Leave to set for a few minutes and then push the radish cake on top. Drizzle with fish sauce, add chilli paste and toss some more to ensure an even mix. Serve hot garnished with spring onion.<br /><br />Taken from cookbook titled “Singapore Heritage Food” by Sylvia Tan</span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34141020.post-24635333780291249252008-11-04T23:51:00.002+08:002008-11-04T23:57:31.187+08:00Simple Dinner<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SRBwyHPN50I/AAAAAAAAHVE/I9lJieICmG8/s1600-h/dinner.jpg"><span style="font-size:85%;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264831970634753858" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SRBwyHPN50I/AAAAAAAAHVE/I9lJieICmG8/s320/dinner.jpg" border="0" /></span></a><span style="font-size:85%;">I rushed home after work and managed to cook a simple meal for Ben. Of course, I will be the one cooking. Ben was very kind to accompany me to do some marketing at Cold Storage and NTUC as he knew I can never carry all the bags on my own. Yeah, we took a cab home after that.<br /><br />What's for dinner? LAKSA!! Eh...don't ask for recipe because I used premix and add other stuff. <span style="color:#ff6600;">*come on, one man show leh, use only 4 hours, ok?* </span><br /><br /></span><span style="font-size:85%;"></span><span style="font-size:85%;"><p align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251065412699641986" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SN-IK-hNWII/AAAAAAAAGiI/BTpRsd7CsAI/s320/collage.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251064956255438786" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SN-HwaIbh8I/AAAAAAAAGhY/amFFQ99eyaw/s320/collage1.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251064958749402242" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SN-HwjbCZII/AAAAAAAAGhg/A5uD9DAPRQk/s320/collage2.jpg" border="0" />I know I know, no big deal right? This is not the first time cooking dinner for 10 persons, so what's the surprise?<br /><br />Tadah !! Peach Longevity Bun from D'Bun ! <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251064965600583762" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SN-Hw88fIFI/AAAAAAAAGho/-Xuq1WcIK68/s320/collage3.jpg" border="0" />Mum was so happy!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251065409711193794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SN-IKzYtPsI/AAAAAAAAGiA/1_E0KXtNzX0/s320/collage7.jpg" border="0" />And our second Surprise - ICE CREAM CAKE for mummy! </p><p align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251062890015808258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cHr8E6BLOJ4/SN-F4Iyg2wI/AAAAAAAAGhQ/ceN5MNiefIQ/s320/collage4.jpg" border="0" /></p><p align="justify">Although it was a failure but mum never complained and she never did, I remember<br /><br />- Baking numerous non edible stuff and wasted more than 50 eggs, she always says," Try again tomorrow.."<br /><br />- During my Sec, I was so FAT that I still thought I was a pretty girl, why?
